A glamorous evening of giving has raised £50,000 to support local children living with a life-threatening condition.
The annual Gala Ball, organised by Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices, took place at St Asaph Cathedral on Saturday, October 26, and was sponsored by the homegrown fashion brand Sisters & Seekers.
The sold-out black-tie event brought together tens of local businesses, who made donations of services, sponsorship and some amazing auction and raffle prizes.
Vanessa Marubbi, event organiser, said:
“It was a magical evening that will do so much for the children and families we support. The work we do was highlighted by Peter and Michelle Hughes, who spoke so passionately about their amazing daughter Matilda, who attends Tŷ Gobaith. All of our guests really brought the party and were so incredibly generous.”
Ms Marubbi also praised the event sponsors, including Swayne Johnson Solicitors, LL Estates, In the Welsh Wind Distillery, and Sterling Windows, as well as those who donated food and drinks, such as Harlech Foodservice and Cariad Gin.
Entertainment on the night included music from The Brass Monkees, live caricatures by Richard Ellis, and a lively auction led by Melfyn Williams of Williams & Goodwin and All Wales Auction.
Ms Marubbi said:
“Further thanks to Harlech Foodservice, Cariad Gin, Snowdon Craft Beer, Sweet Snowdonia biscuits, Kompass Wines, Edwards of Conwy, Radnor and Henley Bridge, who kindly donated food and drinks meaning we could fully maximise our fundraising.”
Melfyn Williams, auctioneer commentated:
“We were delighted to conduct the auction again this year for the amazing Tŷ Gobaith Gala Ball. It was a magical evening full of fun, laughter, warmth and generosity”
Diolch o galon
